I wish I had something to share for our seniors and parents, but as of this morning, we are still in a wait and see pattern. Here is a summary of what has and hasn’t happened to date regarding our seniors.
Meals: We are implementing what we hope is a smoother process to receive meals at the PELC and Washington Elementary utilizing a “drive-thru” strategy.
The parent response to receiving supplemental materials and Chromebooks for students to work from home has exceeded our expectations.
First, the good news. Our teachers and support staff have assembled several weeks of supplemental work that your children can be engaged with during this state of emergency.
Beginning Monday, March 23rd, parents and students should be able to access supplemental resources for our students to remain educationally engaged during the emergency closure of schools.
Since yesterday afternoon’s announcement of Governor Kate Brown’s Executive Order 20-08, our administrative team has been working to upgrade our plan to support you and your families.
At 4:53 pm this afternoon, Governor Kate Brown issued Executive Order 20-08 that closes Oregon’s public schools through Tuesday, April 28th.
We continue to work through the implications of the COVID-19 outbreak on your child’s education with local and state officials.
