  • Current Internet Hoaxes, Urban Legends, and Other Digital Lies – maintains a list of current internet hoaxes, urban legends, rumors, and outright junk with links to more detailed information about the original message and response from reputable sources like the CDC, or “the horse’s mouth.”
  • HoaxBusters – check on the Federal government’s Internet hoaxes site for hoax and email virus warnings to see if you should pass on the warning. It also talks about “how to recognize hoaxes, what to do about them, and some of the history of hoaxes on the Internet.”
