None Sports and Entertainment Marketing
This course is designed to develop a thorough understanding of the marketing concepts and theories that apply to sports and events. Students will begin this course by taking a look at Super Bowl commercials and then designing their own. This course is based on the business and marketing core that includes communication skills, distribution, marketing-information management, pricing,  product/service management, promotion, selling, operations, strategic management, human resource management, and the economic impact and considerations involved in the sports and event marketing industries.

This class teaches students about the Free Enterprise System & World Economics: Students will gain an understanding of marketing essentials within a competitive, free-enterprise system. The curriculum will cover an examination of basic business, economic, and marketing and promotion concepts. The units covered are based on the following nine functions of marketing: Pricing, Distribution, Promotion, Marketing Information Management, Risk Management, Product/Service Planning, Selling, Finance, and Purchasing. Students will learn basic and essential principles that affect their lives as an owner, operator, employee, or consumer.

In Computer Applications students will learn how a personal computer works and how to best utilize it as a tool for schoolwork and on the job. Email, word processing, desktop publishing, spreadsheet, and presentation fundamentals will be covered. This course will introduce students to Access, Word, Excel and PowerPoint using Microsoft Office 2016.

None Retail Merchandising
In this class students learn about store operations, management, and duties, transactions and basic mathematics as well as store layouts and merchandise locations.  Students are also introduced to artistic elements of display, and display features as well as creation of store layout.  Student will also be introduces to Marketing information systems:  Types, trends, and limitations of marketing research, the research process,  survey development, coding, computerized data entry, interpretation of results. Price planning, factors involved in pricing, pricing policies and strategies. The sales process, initiating the sale, product presentation, closing the sale and using math in sales.

2 Basic Courses Business Law (Pre Req Intro to Business)
A course designed to provide students with an overview of civil and criminal law, as it relates to business principles and practices. Topics include ethics, an overview of the legal system, court procedures, criminal/civil justice systems, oral and written contracts, consumer protection, sources of law, and consequences of unethical and illegal conduct, powers and limitations of the federal government, the role of precedent in the legal system. The class then moves on to negligence, torts, criminal law penalties and defenses, misrepresentation, fraud, undue influence, and contractual mistakes as well as contract offers, acceptance, and rejection, legal rights of minors, rescinding contracts, statute of frauds, and contract disputes, performance, time constraints, enforcement by 3rd parties, and assignment vs. delegation.

2 Basic Courses Promotions (Pre Req Marketing Economics)
This course provides students an opportunity to gain an understanding of advertising and other mass communications marketing practices. Promotion surveys the strategy, techniques and communication used to organizations to reach their target markets. The course demonstrates how advertising, publicity, promotion, research and overall marketing campaigns are created and the impact on the creative and business operations of organizations.

Students will be required to apply their knowledge of management and leadership by planning, organizing and controlling activities for the student store, The Buck Stop. This course emphasizes the importance of teamwork, responsibility, and decision-making. A large part of this class will be a hands on experience in The Buck Stop. Both in the store and in the classroom, the student will work in areas such as promotions, sales operations, human relations, communication and more.

2 Basic Courses Intro to Business (4 college credits)
This is an introductory course in the basics of understanding business and business principles and practices. Major topic areas include:  business trends, business ownership, and business management, management of human resources, marketing, decision-making, information technology, and managing financial resources.  Everyone is involved in business at some point in his or her life, so prepare for it now by taking this course. Although this is an important course for college-bound students who plan to major in some area of business, it is also recommended for students who just want to explore their options.

Business Computer Applications 1 Business Computer Applications 2 (4 college credits)
Every student needs computer knowledge beyond keyboarding! This course helps prepare the student for college, the workforce, and other high school classes where computer usage is a must. This course is designed for students who have taken Business Computer Applications I. The major objectives of this course are to build basic speed and accuracy skills, and provide practice in applying those basic skills to the production of letters, reports, tables, memos, forms, and other kinds of personal, personal-business, and business communications through Microsoft Word. This course will also dive deeper into Excel where students will learn to enter, analyze, and present quantitative data.

All students will complete a business plan for the business of their choice. The business skills development component of this class involves students learning various business skills such as computer skills, written and oral communication, marketing skills, business ethics, organization and time management, presentation skills, business management and information technology.
